31,173 new COVID-19 cases push PH’s active tally to 275,364
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) reported 31,173 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the country’s active cases of the disease to 275,364.
Meanwhile, 26,298 more recoveries and 110 additional deaths were also recorded.
With the additional cases, the country’s total confirmed cases of COVID-19 soared to 3,324,478. Of this number, 2,995,961 are recoveries and 53,153 are deaths.
Of the active cases, 8,424 are asymptomatic, 262,168 are mild, 2,979 are moderate, 1,488 are severe, and 305 are critical.
The DOH reported a positivity rate of 43.3 percent from 73,989 tests on Tuesday, significantly far from the 5 percent recommended positivity rate by the World Health Organization.
Article continues after this advertisementNationwide, 50 percent of intensive care unit (ICU) beds, 51 percent of isolation beds, 54 percent of ward beds are currently occupied. In Metro Manila, 51 percent of ICU beds, 47 percent of isolation beds, and 58 percent of ward beds are in use.
The DOH said all testing laboratories were operational on Tuesday, but five were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System.
