2 infants, 4 kids contract COVID-19 in Tarlac
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––Two boys, a 2-day-old and a 4-month-old, are among the 97 new COVID-19 cases in Tarlac, data from the provincial government showed on Sunday, Jan. 23.
The newborn from Paniqui town tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday. He had mild symptoms and was confined in a hospital.
The 4-month-old boy from Concepcion town had no symptoms and was isolated.
Four other children had contracted the viral disease. They include two 2-year-old boys from Camiling and Santa Ignacia, a 5-year-old girl, and an 11-year-old boy from Victoria town.
Tarlac City, the provincial capital, had most of the new cases at 32, followed by Victoria (13) and Paniqui (9).
Data also showed that the province recorded zero recoveries and no deaths on Sunday.
Article continues after this advertisementSince the pandemic struck in 2020, Tarlac has registered 21,523 COVID-19 cases, of which 19,523 had recovered, while 847 had died.
The provincial government said 342 of the 535 COVID-19 beds in the province were vacant on Sunday.
