MANILA, Philippines — Lawyer Larry Gadon has accused Vice President Leni Robredo’s camp of working to have Facebook accounts supporting the candidacy of her political rival Ferdinand “Bong Bong” Marcos Jr. removed from the platform.

“I have it confirmed that the camp of a presidential aspirant has met with officials of the social media platform Facebook Phils. to remove or suspend the FB accounts of BBM supporters with big following,” claimed Gadon, an ardent supporter of the Marcoses.

According to Gadon, a Facebook Philippines insider tipped him of an alleged meeting between Robredo; Chris Kuzhuppily, Facebook Philippines public policy manager; Roy Tan, Facebook’s politics and government outreach manager for the Asia Pacific; and Kylie Mooney, Facebook Philippines government, politics, and advocacy partner manager, purportedly regarding the “millions of Marcos supporters” in the social media platform.

Gadon, who is for senator in the elections this May, said he also uses Facebook analytics in his own social media page.

“Ito ang nakakatakot dahil lahat ng mga Facebook account na sumusuporta sa UniTeam ni Bongbong Marcos at Inday Sara ay posibleng ma-suspend o mabaklas nang tuluyan dahil sa pag-uudyok ng kampo ni Leni gamit ang kathang-isip na akusasyon,” he claimed.

Gadon said Robredo’s camp wanted to run down Marcos Jr.’s supporters on Facebook just like what they did on Twitter.

“Ginawa na nila ‘yan sa Twitter. At ayon sa ipinarating sa akin ng aking kaibigan na nasa loob ng FB Phils. ay ang isinusunod nila ang Facebook pages ng aming mga taga-suporta,” he said.

Gadon even shared part of the text message he supposedly received from his source at Facebook Philippines:

“Leni’s team had a meeting with our senior officials, including Philippine public policy manager Chris Kuzhuppilly, head of politics and government outreach, Roy Tan and Kylie Mooney. They plan to suspend massive BBM supporters’ accounts one week before campaign period starts. A middle man helping Leni’s team reach to FB is closely connected with US.”
