Active COVID-19 cases in Zambales down to 300

The number of COVID-19 active cases in this province dropped to 300 on Thursday (Feb. 3) after 83 more patients recovered from the viral disease, local data showed.

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — The number of COVID-19 active cases in this province dropped to 300 on Thursday (Feb. 3) after 83 more patients recovered from the viral disease, local data showed.

According to the Provincial Health Office, the number of COVID-19 recoveries in the province rose to 10,766 out of the 11,318 confirmed cases logged since the pandemic struck in 2020.

Data also showed that 44 new COVID-19 cases were added to the province’s tally that day.

The decreasing number of infections in the Zambales began this month after reaching as high as 418 in the latter part of January. On Jan. 1, the province had only 10 active cases.

This number continued to increase to 418 on Jan. 24, the highest number of active cases recorded this year while the number of deaths rose to 615.
