MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region (NCR) recorded 398 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, with the positivity rate down to 6 percent as of February 15, OCTA Research fellow Guido David said Friday.
In a tweet, David, citing the Department of Health, said the NCR tallied 398 new cases on Thursday—lower than the 632 new cases recorded the day prior.

Of these new cases, 70 came from the City of Manila, 57 were from Quezon City, 37 were from Pasay City, 29 were from the City of Makati, and 29 were from the City of Pasig. The rest of the cases came from other cities in the region, except for the municipality of Pateros which recorded 0 cases.

David likewise said that the NCR and Calabarzon region are at “low risk” for COVID-19.
“The positivity rates and ADAR (average daily attack rate in the NCR and Calabarzon continued to decrease as all provinces had less than 10% positivity rate as of February 15,” David said.
“In the NCR, the ADAR decreased to 3.45, while the reproduction number remained very low at 0.20, the positivity rate decreased to 6% and the healthcare utilization rate remained very low at 26%,” he added.
Data shared by David show that the positivity rate in Batangas is at 7 percent; Cavite at eight percent; Laguna at seven percent; Quezon at 4 percent; and Rizal at 6 percent.

The country recorded 2,196 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, the fourth straight day that additional infections were just within the 2,000 range.
The 2,196 new cases were also the second lowest so far for February following the 2,010 cases registered on February 15.
