Municipal administrator in Bulacan town survives ambush
MARILAO, Bulacan — The municipal administrator of this town survived an ambush after motorcycle-riding gunmen attacked him while he was headed for work on Wednesday, police said.
Col. Rommel Ochave, Bulacan police chief, said Wilfredo dela Cruz Diaz, 54, was driving his white Mitsubishi Montero along Tibagan St. in Barangay Sta. Rosa 2 when the assailants approached the driver’s window and successively fired shots at him around 7:45 a.m.
The victim. however, did not sustain any gunshot wounds and proceeded to the municipal hall to report the incident to the police.
Authorities recovered eight fired cartridge cases for a .45-caliber pistol from the crime scene.
An investigation was underway to identify the assailants and determine the motive behind the attack.
