SORSOGON CITY, SORSOGON, Philippines — Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Monday mounted a campaign to woo voters in Vice President Leni Robredo’s stronghold in the , telling residents here it was time for fresh blood in Malacañang.
On the second day of his three-day tour of Bicol, the Aksyon Demokratiko standard-bearer tried to play up his personal connection to Bicolandia, pointing out that his wife, businesswoman Diana Lynn Ditan, hailed from Sorsogon, and thus making him “almost a Bicolano.”
“You can adopt me already,” the 47-year-old former actor said at a packed stadium, where his supporters assembled after a heavy downpour forced them to relocate from an open-air park fronting the provincial capitol.
“We need to multiply if we want to become victorious. We need to become a million-strong because it’s our future we are talking about,” he said.
