BACOLOD CITY — New rates are being proposed for the Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary in Murcia, Negros Occidental, when it reopens after Holy Week, said Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl  Decena on Tuesday, April 5.

The entrance fee for adults will be increased from P50 to P120, and for children, from P20 to 60, as a P20 environment fee will also be added to the rates, Decena said.

The new entrance fee will now include the free use of the swimming and dipping pools at the resort.

The proposed entrance fee for the Japanese Ofuro will remain at P100, while rent for the small picnic huts will be increased to P500 and the big ones to P800, Decena said.

The proposed rates for the Mambukal Villas are P2,000 for the matrimonial, P2,400 for triple sharing, P3,000 for quadruple sharing, and P5,500 for family cottages.

Decena, who is also the officer-in-charge of the resort, said there have been no increases in the rates of the Mambukal accommodations and recreational facilities since 2003.

“The last entrance fee increase was in 2011,” she said.

The target is to reopen Mambukal for day visits after Holy Week and for overnight stays in May, Decena said.
