Central Luzon cops ensure public safety during Holy Week

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––Police in Central Luzon have intensified security in key areas in the region for Holy Week as Catholic devotees start flocking to churches and pilgrimage sites.

In a statement Wednesday, April 13, Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay, chief of Police Regional Office 3, said they have tapped force multipliers and auxiliary forces, including Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams and radio net groups, to ensure public safety at this period.

“I gave directives to all City/Provincial Directors from the different Police Provincial/City Police Offices to personally inspect their men on the ground to ensure the safe and secure travel of motorists and commuters this Lenten Season,” Baccay said.

More than 1,000 policemen were earlier assigned to different strategic areas in Central Luzon to ensure peace and order during the Lenten season and summer vacation.
