No more areas under granular lockdown, says A帽o
MANILA, Philippines — There are no more areas under granular lockdown nationwide, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said during the taped weekly “Talk to the People” briefing with President Rodrigo Duterte that aired late on Monday.
“From April 10 to April 16, for the first time, there was no recorded granular lockdown in the Philippines,” Año said in Filipino.
There were six areas under lockdown during the previous week, but all had been lifted, as of April 16, according to Año.
Still, Año assured the president that the (DILG) would remain strict in implementing the minimum public health standards during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Article continues after this advertisementFrom April 10 to 16, Año said that a total of 28,622 violations by people not wearing face masks — which is still 15.69% lower than the previous week’s.
Article continues after this advertisementA total of 3,002 violations of physical distancing were also recorded, but even then, it was 47.12% lower than the previous week’s.
The number of violations for mass gatherings, meanwhile, increased by 62.5 % to 13, especially during the Lenten season.
