Inquirer Mobile ‘PILIpinas’ pushes voter education
MANILA, Philippines — To promote voter education for the May 9 elections, Inquirer Mobile has launched the election bot “Inquirer PILIpinas’’ in partnership with the nonprofit media organization .
The bot has features designed to help Filipinos understand and compare the presidential and vice presidential candidates regarding their track record and stand on important national issues.
Through the ‘Rate the Candidates’ tab, one can review their profile, biography and achievements, as well as rate their platforms.
To view the pulse of bot users, the user can tap the ‘Approval Ratings’ tab to see the overall results.
To send a tip for fact-checking, tap the ‘Send a tip’ box to send a message to the bot. Users who send a message will have it go through the fact-checking process of Vera Files.

The Inquirer PILIpinas bot was created with the help of Inquirer Mobile’s 2021 interns from Bulacan State University, namely Allison Estrella, Bianca Meneses, Mary Joy Salcedo, Mary Angela Puntilar, Chabelita Santiago and Noelyn Joy Matitu, together with the Inquirer Mobile team.
