MANILA, Philippines鈥擳he Commission on Elections (Comelec) task force against vote buying currently investigating ten cases, according to the office of Commissioner Aimee Ferolino, who heads the Taskforce Kontra Bigay.听
鈥淎s of today, we have ten active cases and counting as we are continually receiving numerous reports and complaints of vote buying in our official email address and Facebook page,鈥 the Ferolino鈥檚 office said in a statement.
The task force is also encouraging the public 鈥渘ot only to report incidents of vote-buying or vote-selling, but to come out and to actively participate in the investigation through the execution of an affidavit and submission of evidence.鈥
A concerned citizen may also seek assistance from the Philippine National Police, and assistance desks of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in its 86 chapters nationwide.听
Vote buying and vote selling incidents could also be reported to Task Force Kontra Bigay鈥檚 official Facebook page and its email address at kontrabigay@gmail.com.听
