VP Leni Robredo casts vote in Magarao, Camarines Sur
MANILA, Philippines — Presidential candidate and Vice President Leni Robredo successfully cast her vote before noontime on Monday, election day, her office confirmed.
Robredo exercised her right to vote at Precinct 0064B of Carangcang Elementary School in Magarao town, Camarines Sur.
The Vice President is not voting in her hometown Naga City, after she decided upon the advice of her lawyers to transfer her voter registration to Magarao last October 2021, to be consistent with her present residence.
It could be remembered that Robredo’s move to Magarao drew controversy after several of her supporters thought she had finally decided to vie for the Camarines Sur gubernatorial post, as residing in Naga meant that she cannot run for the said position.
Robredo floated the idea of also running for governor instead of aiming for the presidency, which had prompted a local party to promise support in case she pushed through with that plan.
