Partial, unofficial: Bongbong Marcos defeats Lacson in bailiwick Cavite

MANILA, Philippines — Presidential candidate Senator Panfilo has lost to his opponent Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the 2022 race in his bailiwick Cavite province, based on the partial and unofficial count of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

According to the latest unofficial count which was as of 11:17 p.m., Marcos got a total of 1,094,925 votes in Cavite province, which is one million votes more than what Lacson got in, which is 89,487 votes.

Lacson only placed third among preferred presidential candidates in Cavite, following Vice President Leni Robredo who got a total of 486,161 votes.

Marcos is so far leading in the 2022 presidential derby with over 25 million votes, based on the Comelec’s unofficial count as of 11:17 p.m.

He is trailed by his chief rival Vice President Leni Robredo with 12.1 million votes.

Lacson came in fifth with 763,927 votes, after Senator Manny Pacquiao (2.5 million votes), and Manila City mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso (1.6 million).

The latest results reflect 78.88% of the country’s election returns.
