SAN ANTONIO. Zambales鈥擣ive members of the dominant Khonghun clan in this province won their respective races in the May 9 elections, tightening their grip on local politics.
The political family鈥檚 patriarch, First District Rep. Jeffrey Khonghun, won as mayor of Castillejos town, defeating former mayor Jose Angelo Dominguez and former vice governor Angel Magsaysay.
Khonghun鈥檚 children鈥擲ubic Mayor Jonathan 鈥淛on鈥 Khonghun, Vice Gov. Jefferson 鈥淛ay鈥 Khonghun, and Jacqueline Rose Ferrer Khonghun鈥攚ere also elected.
Jon won in his bid for another term, while Jay was elected as the first district congressman. Neophyte Jacqueline won as vice governor.
Jacqueline鈥檚 son, Jamiel Khinghun Escalona, again won a council seat in Olongapo City.
