Comelec to proclaim 6 party-list groups on Thursday

MANILA, Philippines — The (Comelec) will make a partial proclamation of the winning party-list groups on Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Philippine International Convention Center.
The six party-list groups with guaranteed seats in the House of Representatives after garnering at least 2 percent of the total party-list votes cast are ACT-CIS, 1-Rider, Tingog, 4Ps, Ako Bicol, and Sagip.
“Not all the 63 [party list representatives] will be proclaimed on Thursday. It will only be limited to those who have or are sure that have garnered the guaranteed seats,” said John Rex Laudiangco, spokesperson for the Comelec.
He said the computation of the total number of party-list votes might still affect the ranking of the rest of the party-list groups.
Earlier, the Comelec announced that it will proclaim the 12 winning senatorial candidates on Wednesday without ranking.
On Monday, or Day 7, of the official canvassing, the National Board of Canvassers managed to canvass votes from a total of 172 out of the 173 expected certificates of canvass (COCs).
Only the COC from Lanao del Sur was left to be canvassed. The province has 685,643 registered voters.
