Pagasa: Warm, humid weekend in most parts of PH due to weak ‘habagat’

MANILA, Philippines — Generally warm weather will prevail in most parts of the archipelago due to the weakened southwest monsoon or habagat, the said in its Saturday morning forecast. 

 “Malaking bahagi ng bansa ang magkakaroon ng mainit at maalinsangang panahon muli. Epekto ito ng mahinang habagat dito sa may West Philippine Sea,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said.

 (Most parts of the country will experience warm weather conditions anew because the southwest monsoon near the West Philippine Sea remains weak.)

He added that the ridge of high pressure area, extending over eastern parts of Central and Southern Luzon, similarly clears the skies and calms the weather in the country.  

The state weather bureau, however, still warned of possible isolated rain showers in some areas, which may trigger flash floods and landslides.

No gale warning was raised over the country’s seaboards.
