MANILA, Philippines — The Luzon power grid was placed on “yellow alert” on Tuesday, after four power plants experienced forced outages, said the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

According to NGCP in an advisory, the “yellow alert” was in effect from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and would continue from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

“Yellow alert” means power reserves are not enough to cover the largest running generating unit at the time, but do not necessarily mean power outages.
