Makati cops seize P6.8M shabu; 2 high-value targets nabbed

MANILA, Philippines – Two high-value drug targets were arrested as authorities seized some P6.8 million worth of alleged illegal drugs (shabu or crystal meth) in Makati City, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported Thursday.
Makati chief of police Col. Harold Depositar said a buy-bust operation was mounted in Barangay West Rembo in Makati City on Wednesday, July 6.
Police identified the arrested drug personalities as 60-year-old Moda Mimbalawag and 23-year-old Aslanie Mimbalawag. Authorities said that a 16-year-old high school student deemed to be a “child in conflict with the law” was also rescued.
Police said they confiscated drugs weighing about 1,000 grams. They also recovered P1,000 buy-bust money, two paper bags, one unit of a Toyota Fortuner vehicle, one Toyota Fortuner remote key, and one keypad cellular phone.
The sequestered drugs and pieces of evidence were turned over to the Southern Police Unit forensic unit for chemical analysis.
Meanwhile, the two drug personalities were temporarily detained at the custodial facility of Makati City, while the rescued minor was brought to the Department of Social Welfare and Development for debriefing.
The suspects will face criminal charges for the violation of Republic Act 9165, or Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. – Christine Annie Asistio, 黑料社 intern
