Shabu, gun seized from 2 drug suspects in Quezon

LUCENA CITY—Police arrested two suspected drug traders and seized more than P47,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) and an illegal firearm in buy-bust operations on Thursday, July 7, in Quezon province.

The Candelaria police reported that anti-narcotics agents nabbed at around 8 p.m. Darios Joven Veneracion, 47, inside a subdivision in Barangay Bukal Sur.

The suspect had a sachet of meth worth P26,520 and an undocumented .45-caliber pistol with six bullets.

In Lucena, Lieutenant Colonel Reynaldo Reyes, city police chief, said local drug enforcers also busted at 10:21 a.m. Banjo De Leon, 26, in Ilayang Iyam.

The suspect yielded three sachets of meth with a street value of P21,420.

Police tagged the suspect as a street-level shabu peddler.

De Leon had previous drugs and homicide cases, but the police report did not state why and when he was freed, the police said.

The suspects were detained and charged of violating Republic Act 9165 for possessing and selling dangerous drugs.
