MANILA, Philippines 鈥 Food packs for some 500 families or 1,500 individuals displaced by the landslides and flash floods in six barangays in Banaue, Ifugao have been prepared the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said.
听罢丑别 DSWD on Friday night said 500 family food packs (FFPs) have been delivered.
DSWD also assured that more FFPs will come as 1,000 packs have been hauled and will be delivered to Banaue, while another 1,300 and 1,000 FFPs have been placed on standby in Mountain Province and Ifugao, respectively.
鈥淎ctions undertaken: [鈥 (DSWD) Coordinated with DSWD FO (Field Office) 2 for the possible augmentation of FFPs from Vizcaya to Banaue; Immediate provision of FFPs to the affected families; Managed the hauling of 1,000 FFPs to Banaue,鈥 DSWD said in its report.
鈥淥ngoing delivery of 1,300 FFPs to the satellite warehouse of PAT Ifugao to ensure adequate supply of relief commodities in the province.聽 Coordinated to OCD (Office of Civil Defense) and DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways) for the possible delivery of 1,000 FFPs, on standby at the Mt. Province satellite warehouse as need arises,鈥 it added.
DSWD鈥檚 National Office also said that it has prepared and placed on standby quick response teams (QRTs) to assist the areas affected or threatened by landslides and flash floods.
Latest data from the DSWD showed that two families are still in an evacuation center in Banaue.
It added that 294 houses were partially damaged while two were totally destroyed.聽 (With reports from Andy Hoo, trainee)
