PH COVID-19 positivity rate now at 9.6%, says OCTA fellow
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ COVID-19 positivity rate is now at 9.6 percent, said OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David on Sunday.
Recently-released figures by the Department of Health (DOH) showed that 2,018 new infections were reported on Sunday, bringing the number of active cases to 13,818.
“13,818 active cases, 9.6% nationwide positivity rate. 838 cases in NCR. Projecting 1700-1800 cases 7.11.22,” said David in a COVID-19 update on Twitter.
The said positivity rate is now almost double the WHO’s positivity rate benchmark of 5 percent.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila led the list of areas with the most number of cases recorded on Sunday with 838 total cases, according to David, followed by Iloilo with 139 and Cavite with 135.
Article continues after this advertisementIn Metro Manila, Quezon City reported the most number of infections with 160, followed by Makati City with 107 and Manila with 101.
OCTA also earlier reported that the COVID-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila and in other eight areas have already breached the 10 percent mark.
