Death toll from magnitude 7.0 earthquake rises to four, says DILG
MANILA, Philippines — The death toll from the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck Abra province on Wednesday morning has to four, Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos said.
In a press briefing with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) chief said two of the fatalities were from Benguet, one from Abra, and one from Mt. Province.
A magnitude 7.0 quake hit northeast of Langilang, Abra, at 8:43 a.m. on Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported.
Several structures and bridges reportedly collapsed in the town of Lagangilang in Abra due to the strong temblor.
