MANILA, Philippines — Some areas in Luzon that are still reeling from the effects of a strong magnitude 7.0 earthquake will experience overcast rains on Wednesday due to the southwest monsoon or habagat, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In a Tuesday weather advisory, Pagasa said that the habagat would bring light to moderate with, at times, heavy rain showers during thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Zambales, and Bataan.

“Under these conditions, scattered flooding and rain-induced landslides are likely, especially in the areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards,” Pagasa said.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience fair weather, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms due to habagat.

The state weather bureau has not raised a gale warning to any seaboards nationwide.
