Alan Peter Cayetano tests positive for COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — Senator Alan Peter Cayetano has tested positive for COVID-19.

The development was revealed during Wednesday’s plenary session as Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri hoped for his swift recovery.

Cayetano’s sister and fellow senator Pia went to the podium and relayed Alan’s message of support for sustainability which was being discussed during the session.

“Mr. President, I just want to put on record that Senator Alan from Pateros-Taguig in the Philippines messaged me that he is one with us in sustainability,” said Pia.

Zubiri responded: “Thank you, and please let him know we’re praying for his quick recovery. I heard that he was positive. That’s better that we put it on record lest people will ask where he is.”

Senate Majority Floor Leader Joel Villanueva hoped that Alan’s COVID-19 test was a case of a false positive result.

Pia, meanwhile, hoped that Alan’s wife, Lani, remained safe.
