Quezon City named as PH top tax collector in 2021

MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City has been named as the country’s top tax collector among cities for generating P22.9 billion in 2021.
That was based on data from the , which is under the Department of Finance, according to a statement issued by the city on Wednesday.
Quezon City was also included in a special category called “Local Revenue Generation Hall of Fame” as it consistently ranked first in tax collection among cities nationwide from 2018 to 2020.
Mayor Joy Belmonte said she was grateful for the award, noting that the city had increased its tax generation during her administration.
“Because of your continued trust and support of our administration, we have been able to increase our annual local revenue by more than P10 billion since we assumed office,” Belmonte said.
