Abra earthquake death toll rises to 11 — NDRRMC

The earthquake that rocked Abra and also swayed other parts of Luzon last July 27 has now affected 381,614 people and damaged P704.4 million worth of infrastructures

MANILA, Philippines — The from the magnitude 7.0 earthquake that jolted Abra and other parts of Luzon has risen from 10 to 11, the said on Friday.

In its latest situation report, the NDRRMC said the 11th fatality is a 59 year-old male from Tubo, Abra, who succumed to brain injury “due to collapsed roofing (made of bamboo with a sack of soil on top).”

The agency said 10 of the reported deaths are from the Cordillera Administrative Region and one from the Ilocos region.

A total of 410 people were also injured after the earthquake, according to NDRRMC. 

The earthquake struck northeast of Lagangilang, Abra on July 27. 

 The said a total of 2,650 aftershocks were recorded as of Friday.
