Pampanga’s active COVID-19 cases jump to over 600

Pampanga logs 51 new COVID-19 cases

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga—This province on Monday registered 63 new COVID-19 cases, data from the epidemiology and surveillance unit showed.

Floridablanca town registered the highest number of new cases at 16, followed by the City of San Fernando (15) and Mexico town (9).

Pampanga’s active COVID-19 cases now stand at 666.

The localities with the highest number of active infections were San Fernando (291), Floridablanca (82), Guagua (45), and Mabalacat City (42).

This province also registered on Monday three new fatalities due to COVID-19 complications. The fatalities were residents of Lubao, Apalit, and Sto. Tomas towns.

On Sunday, Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda reminded everyone to continue wearing face masks.

“Darakal la pu reng COVID-19 cases. Manyulud tamu pung face mask. (The number of COVID-19 cases is increasing. Let us wear face masks),” he said in a Facebook post.

This province, which is under Alert Level 1 until August 15, has registered 59,115 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began in 2020. Of these, 55,819 had recovered while 2,630 had died. INQ
