OLONGAPO CITY — The city did not record any new COVID-19 cases on Monday (August 29), slowing down the virus’ growth among its residents, local data showed.

According to the city’s COVID-19 task force, four virus-infected patients were cleared from the viral disease on Monday, contributing to the improving COVID-19 situation here.

Data showed that the current active infections in the city dropped to 29 on Monday, from 33 the previous day.

But healthcare workers were also monitoring 14 suspected COVID-19 cases as of Monday.

No new deaths related to the viral disease were also registered on Monday and in the previous days.

Since the pandemic broke out in 2020, the city has registered 7,533 COVID-19 cases with 6,968 recoveries and 356 deaths.
