In a statement issued on Thursday, September 8, the Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Corporation said it would convert the four remaining cash lanes into radio-frequency identification (RFID) lanes.

The tollway has 10 lanes at present, four of which are cash lanes or those that cater to motorists with no RFID stickers.

“Our transition to full contactless toll payment is aimed at providing a more efficient expressway experience to our road users and afford them ease of travel,” said Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Corporation (CCLEC) President and General Manager Allan G. Alfon.

The CCLEC advised motorists still using cash lanes to switch to RFID in the next three weeks. They could also download the MPT DriveHub app available on Google Play Store and App Store for reloading their accounts.

Aside from the MPT DriveHub app, motorists can also reload their CCLEX RFID at the CCLEX Customer Service Centers at the Toll Plaza from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Saturday, for the whole month of September 2022.

Walk-in RFID installations are also available at the customer service centers on both sides of the CCLEX Toll Plaza, and offsite installation stations at Anjo World in Minglanilla and Landers Superstore in Cebu City.

The CCLEX, more popular as the third bridge, was built to ease traffic congestion on the two other bridges connecting Cebu mainland to Mactan Island, where the airport, resorts, and export processing zones are located.
