MANILA, Philippines — Authorities seized more than P400,000 worth of suspected crystal meth or shabu following the arrest of two suspects — a janitor and a construction worker — in Las Piñas City on Thursday.
The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspects as Benjo Abo, janitor, 34; and Jerphy Padilla, 45, a construction worker.
Both were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted at the Basa Compound, Brgy. Zapote, Las Piñas City, at about 3:30 a.m.
Confiscated from them were an estimated 60 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P408,000.
The SPD said that the pieces of drug-related evidence seized from the two were turned over to the police forensics unit for qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Abo and Padilla were currently detained at the Las Piñas City Detention Facility as they face charges for violations of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. —Lyka Farillon, ºÚÁÏÉç Intern
