NCRPO cops nab 4 suspects for allegedly selling fake LPG

Authorities have arrested  four suspects in separate buy-bust operations on Monday for allegedly selling fake liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Manila, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said in a news release on Wednesday.

MANILA, Philippines — Authorities arrested four suspects in separate buy-bust operations on Monday for allegedly selling fake liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Manila, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said in a news release on Wednesday.

The arrests stemmed from the complaint of one of the representatives of an LPG corporation.

A raid on an LPG store in Lacson Avenue, Sampaloc, Manila, led to the arrest of Jhonnifer Cuevas Peduca, 39, and Joel Salavador Estonilo, 30, police said.

A sack containing fake bulb seals and six empty LPG tanks and three filled LPG tanks has been seized from them.

Also nabbed were suspects Ronald Abela, 43; and Patrick Pedrosa, 20, during an operation in an LPG store in Sta. Mesa Manila, where 32 pieces of 11-kilogram “uncertified, uncalibrated and unsafe” LPG tanks were confiscated.

The suspects are facing criminal charges for violations of Republic Act 8293 also known as the Intellectual Property Code.
