Bongbong Marcos’ flagship housing project breaks ground in Quezon City
MANILA, Philippines — The flagship housing program of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. broke ground in Quezon City on Thursday.
The new houses will be in the neighborhood of Harmony Hills Terraces in Batasan Hills, Quezon City.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to be the President’s emissary in sending this good news to our kababayans here in Quezon City, and in the country as a whole – unti-unti na pong matutupad ang pangarap ng bawat pamilyang Pilipino na nagnanais magkaroon ng sariling bahay, sa pamamagitan po ng Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program,” Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar said in a statement.
(I am deeply honored and humbled to be the President’s emissary in sending this good news to our fellow citizens here in Quezon City and in the country as a whole – the dream of each Filipino family to have their own house through the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program will eventually come true.)
Before the groundbreaking ceremony, the Quezon City government and the DHSUD signed a memorandum of agreement to team up on the housing project.
Article continues after this advertisement“The MOA signing solidified our previous agreement to work hand-in-hand in building houses for the city’s residents, especially the ISFs (informal settler families),” Mayor Joy Belmonte said in the same statement.

Marcos directed the DHSUD to address the housing backlog by building safe, decent, and sustainable homes for 6.5 million families within the President’s term. —Catherine Dabu, trainee
