MANILA, Philippines 鈥擳ropical storm (TS) Karding (international name: Noru) intensified slightly on Saturday as it moved closer to Philippine landmass, prompting state meteorologists to raise Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 over more areas in Luzon.聽
The , in its early morning update, reported that Signal No. 1 is up over the following areas:
- Isabela
- Nueva Vizcaya聽
- 蚕耻颈谤颈苍辞听
- Southern portion of mainland Cagayan (Pe帽ablanca, Tuguegarao City, Iguig, Solana, Tuao, Enrile)
- Kalinga
- Mountain Province
- Ifugao
- Aurora
- Northern and eastern portions of Nueva Ecija (Carranglan, Pantabangan, Gabaldon, Bongabon, Laur, Rizal, San Jose City, Lupao, Llanera, General Mamerto Natividad, Palayan City, General Tinio)

Areas under Signal No. 1, Pagasa said, will experience strong winds of up to 60 kilometers per hour.
鈥�Karding鈥� is also projected to further intensify before making landfall over Northern Luzon by Sunday morning or afternoon.

The Visayas,聽 Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), Bicol region, Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora can expect cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough or extension of 鈥淜arding鈥� and the southwest monsoon or 鈥渉abagat.鈥澛�
Metro Manila and rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the southwest monsoon or localized thunderstorms, Pagasa added.聽
