Quezon province: Classes in all levels, work in gov’t offices suspended on Monday
LUCENA CITY – Classes in public and private schools as well as work in government offices in Quezon province on Monday, Sept. 26, have been suspended due to super typhoon Karding (international name: Noru).
Governor Angelina Tan, in Memorandum Circular 006 issued on Sunday, Sept. 25, said classes in all school levels in the province, including Tayabas City and Lucena City, are suspended on Monday.
A copy of the order was posted on the Facebook page of the Provincial Government of Quezon.
“Work in government and private sector are likewise suspended on 26 September 2022 except those offices whose mandate pertains to delivery of health services, maintenance of peace and order, and disaster preparedness and response,” Tan said.
Tan cited the latest weather bulletin released before noon Sunday, which stated that the center of the eye of “Karding” was estimated some 175 kilometer east of Infanta, Quezon, packing maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center with gustiness of up to 240 kph.

Article continues after this advertisementTan also ordered the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and their local counterparts to heighten the monitoring of their respective areas of responsibility and immediately provide situational reports.
The said tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) No.5 has been raised over Polillo Island and the extreme northern portion of Quezon (the northern and central portions of General Nakar, and the northeastern portion of Infanta).
TCWS No. 4 is up over the northern portion of Quezon (the rest of General Nakar, the rest of Infanta, Real).
TCWS No. 3 is up over the rest of the northern portion of Quezon (Infanta, Real, General Nakar, Mauban), whicle TCWS No. 2 was hoisted over the central part of Quezon and TCWS No. 1 over the rest of the province.
