35 families evacuated in Zambales town due to Karding

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — At least 35 families, or 144 individuals, from several low-lying villages in Masinloc town were evacuated due to floods caused by Typhoon Karding (international name: Noru), local authorities said Monday, Sept. 26.

Masinloc Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said at least 19 (75 individuals) displaced residents were from Barangay Inhobol, while a family (five individuals) was from Barangay South Poblacion.

The remaining 15 evacuated families (64 individuals) came from Barangay Colliat.

Rescue personnel was deployed to other parts of the province after
incessant rains since Sunday flooded some villages, the provincial government said.

Karding continued to weaken as of 5 a.m. Monday as it emerged over the coastal waters of northern Zambales. INQ
