MANILA, Philippines — Scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail over parts of the country on Tuesday due to the effects of the easterlies and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), according to the state weather bureau.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the easterlies, which are winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, will affect Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora and Quezon.

The ITCZ, which happens when the northeast and southeast trade winds converge, will affect a large part of Mindanao, and cause partly cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
