LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte鈥擱elief goods and other essential supplies were airlifted by helicopters of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) to disaster-stricken areas in Ilocos Norte and Cagayan provinces.
In a statement on Monday (Oct. 24), PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo said that two PAF UH-1H helicopters delivered a total of 4,604 lbs of relief goods consisting of food packs, medicine, and fuel to the municipality of Adams in Ilocos Norte on Sunday.
Adams, which was one of the hardest hit areas during the onslaught of typhoon 鈥淣eneng鈥 (international name: Nesat), was 鈥渋solated鈥 from the rest of the province after road infrastructure was devastated by the typhoon, authorities said.
A W-3A 鈥淪okol鈥 combat utility helicopter was also deployed to Calayan town, Cagayan town to bring relief goods to residents who were still reeling from the effect of weather disturbance, said Castillo. INQ
