MANILA, Philippines 鈥� The number of reported deaths caused by Tropical Storm Paeng (international name: Nalgae) has risen to 154, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its latest situational report Friday morning.
The NDRRMC said that 101 deaths are confirmed while 53听 are still for validation.
听Most of the deaths were reported in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (63) due to flash floods and landslides in Maguindanao del Norte.
Western Visayas and Calabarzon have reported 33 deaths each.
The following regions also reported fatalities: Eastern Visayas (5), Zamboanga Peninsula (4), Soccsksargen (4),听 Mimaropa (3),听 Cagayan Valley (2), Central Luzon (2),听 Bicol region (2), Central Visayas (2) and Cordillera Administrative Region (1).
听A total of 128 individuals were reported injured and 35 others missing.
Damage to the agriculture sector was pegged at P2.7 billion, while damage to infrastructure was estimated at听 P2.9 billion.
听President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday placed Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon), Bicol region, Western Visayas, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao under a state of calamity.
