Despite the return of in-person classes, children aged 5 to 11 are not yet eligible to receive a booster shot of COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
鈥淯ntil now, booster shots are still not recommended by the Philippine government to our children 5 to 11 years old,鈥 Maria Rosario Vergeire, officer in charge of DOH, said at a press briefing recently.
She explained that government regulatory agencies have yet to give clearance for booster shots for the particular age group.

Currently, children aged 5 to 11 are only eligible for two primary series COVID-19 vaccines.
