Cloudy skies, rain over eastern part of Luzon due to shear line – Pagasa

The country's weather on November 8 will be generally cloudy as rain is also likely

MANILA, Philippines —  The shear line will bring cloudy skies and scattered rain showers over the eastern section of Luzon while the easterlies and localized thunderstorms will affect the rest of the country on Tuesday.

Weather specialist Veronica Torres said in a forecast that other areas of Luzon, including Metro Manila, where the shear line will have no influence, are anticipated to experience partly overcast to overcast skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms tomorrow, November 8.

“Inaasahan natin dito sa silangang bahagi ng Luzon ang cloudy skies condition na may mga scattered rain showers and thunderstorms,” she said.

“Para naman sa Metro Manila at nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon asahan ang partially cloudy skies to cloudy skies na may isolated rain showers o thunderstorms,” she added.

(As for Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, expect partially cloudy skies to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.)

The 5 p.m. Monday bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) indicated that Tuesday’s weather in Visayas and Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

It further said that no tropical cyclones or low-pressure areas (LPA) are being monitored within or outside the Philippine area of responsibility. No storms or LPAs may be expected in the Philippines in the next 24 hours.

Moreover, Pagasa said it did not raise any gale warning over any part of the country’s seaboard, although rough coastal water conditions may still be possible over Northern Luzon.

As for the predicted temperature range in key cities/areas across the country for Tuesday, the state weather bureau said:

  • Metro Manila: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Baguio City: 17 to 25 degrees Celsius
  • Laoag City:  24 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Tuguegarao: 23 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Legazpi City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Puerto Princesa City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Tagaytay: 22 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Kalayaan Islands: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Iloilo City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Cebu: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Tacloban City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Zamboanga City: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Davao City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
