Sen. Poe’s son launches book on sustainable future in PH
MANILA, Philippines —Senator Grace Poe’s son launched a book on building a sustainable Philippines amid rising hurdles and vulnerabilities.
“A Sustainable Future,” written by climate change and sustainability specialist Dr. Brian Poe Llamanzares, was launched at Manila Hotel on Tuesday evening.
The book provides an optimistic and holistic view of collectively understanding and responding to issues in building sustainability.
“It is crystal-clear that the biggest threat to our country now is climate vulnerability. Whether it’s a supertyphoon taking lives or a drought destroying our agricultural economy, the toll climate change takes on our country is quite severe. We must do what it takes to save our country and prepare for the future,” Llamanzares said in a statement.
Llamanzares, in his book, explained the three main pillars of sustainability: resource management, renewable energy, and disaster resilience.
