Bongbong Marcos leads gift-giving event for kids in Malacañang

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led a gift-giving event and Christmas celebration right in front of Malacañang on Sunday.

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led a gift-giving event and Christmas celebration in front of the Malacañan Palace on Sunday.

The said event, with the theme “‘Balik Sigla, Bigay Saya: Nationwide Gift Giving,” invited 600 children at the Kalayaan Grounds in Malacañang on December 4. A similar event was also held simultaneously in 40 different locations nationwide.

“Napakasaya talaga at hindi kumpleto ang kahit anong Pasko kung hindi natin nakikita ang ngiti at tuwa ng ating mga anak, ang ating mga apo, ang ating mga kabataan,” said Marcos Jr. in a speech during the said event.

According to Marcos, they held a Christmas party for kids to ensure that all Filipino youth will get to experience Christmas.

Apart from gifts, children were also treated to other game activities at the Kalayaan Grounds, akin to a “perya” or a small funfair.

After leading the Christmas tree lighting ceremony last night in Malacañang, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. continues to spread the Yuletide cheers by inviting around 600 children for a Sunday treat dubbed, ‘Balik Sigla, Bigay Saya: Nationwide Gift Giving’ at the Kalayaan Grounds in Malacañan Palace on December 4, 2022.

According to the Palace, the said event was done by the Office of the President (OP) in cooperation with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Department of Health (DOH), as well as local government units.
