MANILA, Philippines – A rainy Monday is expected in five areas across the archipelago, including Bicol Region, due to the easterlies, or the winds blowing from the east, said the state weather bureau.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Administration (Pagasa), in its early morning forecast, said easterlies-induced rain and thunderstorms will be scattered over the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, and Quezon province.

Generally fair weather, on the other hand, will prevail in Manila and the rest of the country, he noted.

According to Pagasa, no low-pressure area is seen to come in the vicinity of the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) this week, but Badrina restated that one or two storms may still enter the PAR in December.
