Korean firm allots P50 million to boost charity work in Pampanga, Tarlac

A Korean firm has allotted P50 million for charities in 2023.

CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga — The Korean-led high-end integrated lifestyle resort company Hann Philippines Inc. has renamed its corporate social responsibility arm as Hann Foundation Inc. (HFI) and earmarked an initial P50 million for charities in 2023.

The projects will be implemented in the provinces of Tarlac and Pampanga, according to Agnes Liwanag, Hann Philippines executive vice president for corporate planning, development, and communication.

These include building a construction skills laboratory in Tarlac and improving the management information system of the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (formerly the Ospital Ning Angeles) in Angeles City in Pampanga, said HFI manager Ronnel Golimlim.

Golimlim said the former Widus Foundation Inc. has implemented 15 health, environment, education, and cultural heritage projects with Aeta indigenous folk and upland farmers since 2016, drawing 200 volunteers who have contributed 1,800 hours of community work.

“We want to do more sustainable campaigns in 2023,” Golimlim said at the KapiHann news forum of the Pampanga Press Club on Wednesday, December 7.
