LUCENA CITY — A baby boy, with his umbilical cord attached, was found abandoned Monday at the public cemetery in Guinyangan town in Quezon province.

A police report on Tuesday said a resident found the infant around 3:20 p.m. inside a sack in a corner of the cemetery in Barangay Calimpak.

The infant was taken to Guinayangan Community Medicare for medical attention.

In San Pedro City, Laguna, a grave keeper also found on Monday afternoon a dead fetus inside a box wrapped in a garbage bag in front of the cemetery in Barangay San Antonio, the Region 4A police reported Tuesday.

The police are investigating the cases, while a priest gave a final blessing to the fetus before burial at the cemetery.
