Lamentillo is now a PH Coast Guard auxiliary commodore

MANILA, Philippines — Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Undersecretary Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo is now an officer of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) with a one-star rank.

PCG Commandant Admiral Artemio Abu inducted Lamentillo as Auxiliary Commodore of the PCGA Executive Squadron on Monday, January 2, at the PCG National Headquarters in Port Area, Manila.

“I am happy to start the year renewing my dedication to public service by becoming part of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary. I am honored to be part of PCGA and support the PCG’s very important mandate of protecting our seas, [saving] human and marine life, and [ensuring] the safety, security, and sustainability of our seas,” she said.

The PCGA, a uniformed civilian volunteer organization, supports the PCG in promoting the safety of life and property at sea. Its functions include maritime environment protection, maritime search and rescue, maritime safety, and maritime community relations.

“My commitment is to help the PCG realize its vision to be a world-class guardian of the sea committed to save lives, ensure safe maritime transport, cleaner seas, and secure maritime jurisdiction,” said Lamentillo.
