2 teenagers drown in Quezon City creek

Two teenagers were found dead in a creek in Quezon City on Wednesday afternoon. The Quezon City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office said the fatalities were a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old male, both residents of Sitio Veterans, Barangay Bagong Silangan. Initial investigation said the 13-year-old ran away from his home on Wednesday morning and sought the company of his older friend. At around 11 a.m., the younger man plunged into the Sitio Bakal waterway to take a bath but drowned. His older friend tried to save his friend but also drowned. The bodies of the victims were brought to a funeral parlor for postmortem examination. —Abby Boiser
