Marcos Jr. ends 2022 on high note as SWS survey finds 68% satisfaction rating

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. signed off 2022 with a bang after the latest survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) released on Tuesday revealed a net satisfaction rating of 68 percent.

SWS released its complete survey findings, revealing all the details of the data collected. The results show key insights into the various demographics, providing an in-depth look at the topics in question.

Marcos’ satisfaction rating was highest in Mindanao at 72 percent, which translates to an “excellent” rating, followed by a “very good” ratings in Balance Luzon at 68 percent, Visayas at 67 percent, and Metro Manila at 65 percent.

Those living in rural areas gave Marcos an “excellent” rating at 74 percent, and those in urban areas gave him a “very good” mark at 62 percent.

Among those surveyed, women gave Marcos a lower rating of 66 percent, compared to men, who gave the President an “excellent” rating of 70 percent.

Older adults also gave Marcos a higher satisfaction rating compared to younger ones, with those ages 25 to 44 giving him an excellent score while those ages 18 to 24 gave him a lower rating of “very good”.

Likewise, Marcos received an “excellent” rating from those who did not graduate from formal education while getting a “very good” from those who graduated from elementary or high school.

According to the SWS, this survey was conducted from December 10 to 14, 2022, through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 people. A total of 300 individuals each from Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao took part in the survey.
