Metro Manila’s COVID-19 positivity rate slightly up to 1.7% — OCTA

MANILA, Philippines — The COVID-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila slightly rose from 1.6 to 1.7 percent, according to OCTA Research fellow Guido David on Monday.
“NCR (National Capital Region) Positivity rate had a negligible increase in 7-day positivity rate, from 1.6% (Feb. 11, 2023) to 1.7% (Feb. 18, 2023),” David said in a social media post.

“The positivity rates in NCR and other major provinces remained low at less than 5%,” he added.
While all regions remain low, several other areas, apart from Metro Manila, recorded an increase in their positivity rate, including Cebu, which rose from 0.8 to 1.4 percent; Davao del Sur, 2.8 to 3.8 percent; and Iloilo, 0.5 to 1 percent.
Based on the Department of Health’s online COVID-19 tracker, active cases are currently at 9,182, after recording 142 fresh infections on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the country’s COVID-19 caseload is at 4,075,524, with 4,000,321 recoveries and 66,021 deaths.
